Repair, diagnosis and maintenance of your Ford vehicle
When your Ford vehicle was manufactured, it was assigned a unique number (the Vehicle Identification Number or "VIN" ). From the VIN, Ford can obtain certain information about your vehicle, including the model and age of the vehicle, the software used in it and its technical specifications.
In order to diagnose, analyse, repair or service your vehicle, the technician performing the work must process the VIN and certain diagnostic data and information about the current condition of your vehicle (e.g. which software versions are currently in use, current mileage , etc .).

Automated decisions
Ford reserves the right to combine your personal data and using automated decision-making processes for the above purposes and:

- to keep your personal data up to date;
- to improve customer understanding; and
- to administer and improve Ford's business relationship with you.
This can be, for example, gaining insights for optimizing sales strategies, assessing the effectiveness of marketing measures and customer care by Ford, conducting market analyzes and identifying products or services that may be of interest to you, and contacting you to let you know.
In certain cases, automated decisions made by Ford may have legal or similar effects on you. However, Ford only makes automated decisions of this type if:
- the decisions are necessary for the performance or entering into a contract with you;
